Yorkie, Maltese, Bulldog and Chihuahua are the most popular puppies scam advertisement
Recently we have conducted an analysis on our free classified websites, and discovered that Yorkie, Maltese, Bulldog and Chihuahua are the most popular puppies used in scam/spam classified ads.
We have analyzed the data for the one year period (2009) and found that most popular scam puppy is Yorkie followed by Bulldog on the second place.

The same analysis also brought another interesting fact to light - Yahoo! Mail and Gmail are the most popular public email providers, used for puppies scam.

It is not surprising that Yahoo! Mail and Gmail are the most popular in such kind of ads. Our other survey (Free Classifieds: People using more public email providers) also shows that these two public email providers are the most popular on classifieds websites.
From our other survey we found that Gmail is the most popular email provider on classifieds, but Yahoo! Mail is the most popular in puppies scam. One of explanations to that finding, is that Yahoo! Mail is available with several country extensions, like @yahoo.ca (for Canada) @yahoo.co.uk (for UK). Scammers coming from Nigeria, Cameroon, India (for example) and other countries try to use .ca and .uk extensions in their effort to gain trust from the buyers and create an impression that they (buyers) deal locally with the sellers.
